Hume Communications INC.

Hume Communications Inc. (HCI) was founded in 1988. It undertakes Municipal Cultural Planning, communications and strategic planning assistance, for a select list of clients.

HCI assists municipalities and civic organizations with Creative City initiatives and Municipal Cultural Planning. The President of HCI is Gord Hume, who has been in media, corporate management and the public sector since 1967.

Gord is the author of “Cultural Planning for Creative Communities”, already in its third printing. The book is a first in North America, and has received very positive reviews and response from the municipal sector and public interest groups.

Gord is an accomplished public speaker and has spoken to major conferences, conventions and municipal seminars across Canada. He is also a Senior Associate with the Canadian Urban Institute in Toronto.

HCI also works with corporate clients on strategic and corporate planning matters, or issues of government and public concerns. Among HCI’s clients are/have been:

Gord was the founding Publisher of The Londoner, which became Canada’s largest independent weekly newspaper. He was the President of London Broadcasters Limited and held senior executive positions with other corporations. He was elected to London City Council in 1997 and to Board of Control in 2000.

Gord received professional accreditation from the Canadian Public Relations Society in 1973—the youngest person to ever be so honoured. He has received many national and international awards for his work in broadcasting, communications and public relations.
