ideas and Council initiatives
Gord has been a leader on Council since his first election. In addition to the major projects identified in the left task bar, here are just a few of the other ideas he's brought up to help make London a better city:
*It was Gord's idea to provide free parking for veteran's to honour them during the Year of the Veteran.
*Gord's idea to provide special parking spaces for environmentally-friendly "Smart Cars" and motorcycles is now being studied by staff.
*Gord led the battle to build the new Oxford West Bridge,
*Gord has been urging Council to 'spread their wings' by initiating new contacts with some of the key emerging markets in the world--China, India, Brazil and others.
*Gord has consistently supported municipal investments in medical research, biotech and life sciences to create new jobs and help keep more of our best and brightest in London.
