Gord chaired this important standing committee in 1999--the year when ETC accomplished such major projects as approving the road widenings of Commissioners Road and Springbank Drive. It was also the year that Council committed to the recommendation Gord presented on the Southside Pollution Control plant--it was one of the most controversial and difficult debates in recent Council history, yet he steered the project through to a successful first stage.
